Keep Your Data Accurate in TeamDirectory
Ensure your data is complete, accurate and up-to-date with TeamDirectory's Data Integrity tools.
Maintaining accurate and consistent directory data, facilitates more efficient communication across your organization, improves directory search accuracy and prevent errors in organizational reporting.
Checking your data
Data integrity checks run automatically when you open the Data Integrity Check page, enabling you to identify and correct errors then review and apply changes, all from within TeamDirectory.
Using the Edit button, administrators are also able add, amend, or delete checks based on the fields they wish to validate. Common checks include verifying fields such as Country, Job Title and Manager ID. Each check can be customized to suit the organization's needs, ensuring that all required data is properly validated.
The data integrity graph
Found on the Data Integrity Check page, the graph provides a visual summary of the status of key fields and any potential errors, including empty values, circular references and missing managers.
Your data check results
A summary results of each check are displayed. For each check, a list of users who fail the check is provided. This allows administrators to easily see which entries in the directory are missing data or contain invalid information.
Fixing your data errors
The Data Integrity Fix page lists all the integrity checks and the number of users who failed.
For each check, administrators can click the Details button to view more information about the failed data, and manually correct the invalid or missing values.
After ammending a value, click Save to ready the changes for review.
Reviewing your data changes
The Data Integrity Review page enables administrators to confirm the new values are accurate and approve the changes for application, or reject or delete if they are not. Administrators also have the options to approve all changes in bulk, by clicking the Approve All button.
Applying your data changes
Directly to Microsoft Entra ID
If TeamDirectory has been granted the appropriate scopes and the administrator has the necessary Azure Role (e.g. User Administrator), changes can be applied directly to Microsoft Entra ID. This allows for real-time updates to the directory data within your organization's Microsoft ecosystem.
Manually with PowerShell Script
In cases where you does not want TeamDirectory to make changes directly, the 'Fix Manually' option generates a PowerShell script that contains the necessary commands to update the directory. This script can be executed by a person with the appropriate permissions, ensuring changes are made in a controlled and secure manner.
The Powershell script uses Microsoft Graph PowerShell and generates the appropriate list of commands to make the changes within Microsoft Entra ID via Microsoft Graph.
Download changes as CSV
For customers who rely on a different back-office system as the Source of Truth, the changes can be exported as a CSV file. This file can be used internally to update your systems, and once Microsoft Entra ID is updated the changes will flow back into TeamDirectory. This option provides flexibility for organizations with complex data management workflows.
